Door Hardware Is Separating From Ceiling!

This is a single car garage. A carport conversion. They are usually very messy and often have multiple things wrong with them. Usually the hardware is mounted to angle iron which has wood screws going into the lumber above the door. Here though they attempted to nail some 2x4s to the drywall. It apparently worked for many years but now it was pulling free and about to fall on the car.
