I do not work on Marantec openers.
I have had nothing but problems with Marantecs.
Their safety sensors are wobbly.
The indicator lights are hard to see.
The manuals are often completely wrong.
Furthermore, When I call Marantec headquarters they tell me to contact the local Marantec dealer.
The local authorized Marantec dealer naturally refuses to help other dealers because other dealers are their competition.
Instead I simply say call the authorized Marantec dealer and see if they will help you out over the phone.
If they insist on coming over make sure they give a free estimate so you can say no if they want to charge you $300.
And to call me back if they would like what I consider to be a much better opener at about the same price as an authorized Marantec dealer charges for a service call.
Finally their not so old opener manuals from past generations are not availble.
Or if they are I can't find them.
Nor do they stock remote controls for their past models.
I recommend replacing the Marantec opener with the other opener authorized Marantec dealer around here sales.
(But not from them since they charge much more for the same opener. Though they have their name printed on it and I don't.)
That other opener is the Linear LDCO800.
Linear has done everything the right way, has been around for almost 60 years, and their openers work decade after decade.
I believe Linear is the quietest and most trouble free opener available and it is from an American company right here in Southern California.
Linear still has transmitters for openers they put in during the 1970s.
And modern home link systems built into your car or universal transmitters you buy will work on Linears for the past few decades.
On the other hand I don't believe any universal remote control works with a Marantec!
